Cove Point
In 2012, Pacific Summit Energy LLC secured a 20-year Terminal Service Agreement (TSA) with Dominion Energy Cove Point LNG, LP, granting access to a liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal in Lusby, Maryland.
This facility has a production capacity of 5.25 million metric tons per annum (MTPA) of LNG, with 2.3 million MTPA allocated for export to Japan, specifically to Tokyo Gas and Kansai Electric, addressing the country’s ongoing energy requirements.
In 2014, Pacific Summit Energy LLC transferred the TSA to ST Cove Point (STCP), a joint venture between Sumitomo Corporation and Tokyo Gas. STCP now manages the terminal operations and LNG exports.
