This knowledge is gained by using natural gas pipeline electronic bulletin boards, relationships with the various pipeline representatives, and historical experience with the various natural gas pipelines. In addition, Schedulers must use their best judgement matching up suppliers and markets, based off of historical experience with these counterparties.

Maintain detail and data in daily spreadsheets and PSE’s energy management system. Upstream contracts, pipeline meters, upstream DUNS numbers, downstream contracts, pipeline meters, and downstream DUNS, must all be noted and communicated to the various customers. All detail and data must be transferred and “pathed” within the energy management system, so counterparties are correctly invoiced.
Evaluate natural gas pipeline imbalances via the respective pipeline electronic bulletin boards. Imbalances are accumulated by the Gas trading group activity on the pipelines. Must report and advise trading management the best options of resolving imbalance issues.
Evaluate and communicate daily natural gas pipeline operational conditions to management and consult on solutions to any difficulties of the transportation of gas due to these operational conditions.
Certify and reconcile monthly accounting activities. Check on each transportation contract monthly flows, counterparty reductions, and make an independent judgement to enter pipeline cash-out or enter a carryover ticket, and at what price that deal gets entered.
Investigate and resolve prior period adjustments that are assigned. Prior period adjustments can have a significant financial impact, depending on the Scheduler’s decision.
